“I love rock and roll, so put another dime in the jukebox, baby. I love rock and roll, so come and take your time and dance with me” is what Kati Stern was probably singing internally as her creations took over the runway during New York Fashion Week. Stern is know for being one of the sweetest and edgiest designer out there, and her 57 gowns didn’t shy from her personality.
With an ultra-feminine touch, the Venexiana S/S 2015 collection bared more than just shoulders, showing off waists and backs as well. Catering to all tastes, the collection opted to go with silk, chiffon, lace, sequin and maximum embroidery. Though each gown had its own story to tell, gowns shared metallic flower details in the form of stem-like side or back pieces or brooches pinned at the back.
The presentation started with a jersey halter gown complete with plunging neckline and Preciosa crystals and ended with a dusty-rose sequin gown, also with plunging neckline and sparkling Preciosa crystals—elements seen throughout the collection.
When it came to addressing floral print, which has been showcased in a number of collections during this year’s NYFW, Kati went all out with a multicolored silk-chiffon halter gown.
The collection might remind you of Greek goddesses, Charles James, and Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive and that was the beauty of the collection.
