Brides everywhere can rejoice, as couture duo Viktor & Rolf are once more focusing on a bridal collection, this time collaborating with wedding specialist Justin Alexander.
The collection is set to launch in October, and will show during New York Bridal Week. The Dutch couturiers are no stranger to weddings, as they dressed Princess Mabel of Orange-Nassau for her royal wedding in 2004, and in 2006, they collaborated with H&M on a collection for budget brides.
Of their new collection, Victor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren said to WWD, “Each dress in this collection has an individual, autonomous character.”
The duo, who are noted for their brand’s extreme silhouettes and avant-garde gowns, stated that the collection will accentuate sculptural shapes, including lavish embroidery, demonstrative bows and voluminous tulle.
They have stated that they will keep their brand’s key characteristics in their new collection, stating that the gowns will provoke a sense of “unexpected elegance, conceptual glamour, and provocative couture.”
The couturiers have characterized their collaboration with Justin Alexander, a firm known for manufacturing mid-to-high-end wedding dresses, as a partnership.
Alongside their new bridal collection, Viktor & Rolf is set to debut their fall 2016 couture collection in Paris on July 6th.
