It’s been a quick turn around for Natalie Ratabesi as she was just named creative director for Vince after leaving her position as creative director for Philosophy di Alberta in May.
As of Jun. 16, Ratabesi’s new position entails managing all brands in the women’s division, including but not limited to: apparel and accessories. She will report to the chief creative officer, Karin Gregersen, who also serves as the president. Make sure to keep an eye out for Vince’s upcoming 2015 lines, as Ratabesi prepares to wow the crowd with her first designs.
The new job calls for a big move from Milan to Los Angeles, and Ratabesi and her family are embracing the journey with open arms. Having moved away from home at 17, Ratabesi is looking forward to continuing her travel habits and discovering what L.A has to offer.
The opportunity was one that not only presented itself at the perfect time, but it also enticed Ratabesi with its promising future. “I just loved the excitement they had when they talked about this brand — their growth and how they want to take it to another level,” Ratabesi told WWD in an interview.
Success seems to be knocking on Ratabesi’s front door, as she voiced her confidence with her new responsibilities. The visual appeal of Vince is similar to that of her own fashion choices, she believes. “She creates silhouettes that are modern, understated and cool, and understands our neutral, rich colour palette… I think she’ll really leverage our brand DNA,” said Gregersen.
