A trip to the Amazon seemed to be the underlying inspiration in the designs created by Vivienne Westwood for her 2015 Resort Collection. Presenting her first Gold Label resort collection, gold, dark fuschia, and teal green were among some of the colors in her palette. As usual, most, if not all, of her looks were perfect red carpet and cocktail party looks. Most of them were too high fashion to wear on just any night.

One of her most beautiful pieces is both playful and yet high fashion, with a single short sleeve, and body piece ruffled in a solid black, perfectly complemented by a shiny, puffy, crinkled skirt, falling at different lengths. Westwood’s chosen color palette for the season (previously mentioned) was striped diagonally throughout the skirt. Another charming dress had a similar design, but started with white on the sleeve and bodess, and then blossomed with black, grey and white floral print throughout the multilevel puff-skirt. A simpler dress was a formed fitted and body hugging sleeveless, black dress covered in sequins to give a refined, polished look.

Playing with shape and silhouette, Westwood’s designs vary in shape, color and pattern, but, as usual, are nothing short of spectacular. It’s clear that her designs are not just for a clothing line, but also for entertainment, artistic spectacle, and self-expression – aspects that will always set it apart from all other brands! Kudos, Vivienne!
