Two fashion experts, Oscar de la Renta and Shinola, have decided to team up and produce a limited edition of 1,000 women’s watches, according to Pambianco News. This new arm candy has a special touch from both ends, and it’s inspired by De La Renta’s timeless jewelry collection.
De la Renta’s spokesperson reported that the new addition will be his first watch exhibition in over 20 years, so it’s sure to be a breathe of fresh air for the designer. Not many were expecting this pair to match up for business matters, but De La Renta’s CEO, Alex Bolen, read an article about Shinola that inspired him to dig deeper into the company’s appeal.

“Aesthetically it was not an obvious match. Our stuff is very feminine, and the stuff that Shinola has done doesn’t scream feminine. But the team at Shinola said, ‘We’ve got you covered.’ They were excited at the challenge of designing something that fit with Shinola’s manufacturing but authentic to our DNA,” Bolen told Women’s Wear Daily.
Neiman Marcus has full confidence in the duo’s merchandise, as it has already purchased 70 percent of the three-style collection. According to Style Blazer, the most expensive style is composed of a black alligator strap and 68 full-cut diamonds; it’s priced at $2,700. The next choice is a blue alligator band with a gold-plated outer shell going for $1,600. The final style is a red alligator strap with a stainless steel covering, and it’s priced at $1,400.
Go ahead and plan accordingly, because these must-have watches are hitting the stores in October. There’s no time to be a day late and a dollar short.
