This weekend, take a gamble on a timeless (maybe semi-daunting) look: monochrome. Perhaps wearing (literally) head-to-toe of one color scares you, appalls you, or is downright just not an option in your closet—but I’m here to tell you that monochrome is so worth the risk. The key to a successful monochrome look is making sure that you vary your textures. Neutrals, like black and white, are not as intimidating when you’re new to the monochrome thing—but we think that you should give navy a try (no, you won’t look like a blueberry, swear); after all, it’s a neutral too.
Try out this breezy silk t-shirt from Theory, and these luxe-looking velvet pants from Michael Kors. The texture combination is a match made in material heaven, and you will look insanely chic and stylistically complex (that’s right, I’m not kidding).
This long-line silk coat from Adam Lippes is perfect to wear open, or sophisticatedly belted all Olivia Pope-like.
To cap off the look, these leather boots from Camper are simple enough to keep you looking sharp, and the white block heel is a small navy break-up just in case you get cold feet.
So will you be so bold to try out a monochrome look this weekend? Or are you gonna kick it back in pj’s all weekend (at some point, you will have to leave your apartment)?
