Westboro Baptist Church Protest Country Music, but First Pose For Selfie

The Westboro Baptist Church seems to be protesting everywhere. Inappropriate, insulting, and now totally ridiculous.

The latest protest took place outside country singer, Brad Paisley’s concert in Kansas. Protesters held signs that read, “God hates drunks,” “Sin breeds violence,” and “God h8’s your stars” with the Hollywood star on it. Never passing up an opportunity to turn something ridiculous into a joke, the singer decided to take a selfie with the group.

“Westboro Baptist Selfie!! Or west-Burro (ass) selfie. Hopefully they can hear the show out here. We’ll play loud.” he posted on Instagram with the selfie. In the photo, Paisley has crazy eyes, either confused by their protesting, since the singer doesn’t drink, creeped out by their extremeness, or a combination of both.

When the Westboro Baptist Church is not protesting funerals, or marriages, they seem to like to protest outside concerts, most recently Lorde’s concert. Lorde got back at the group with a counter-protest, having her fans pose with their own picket signs. Instead of spreading hate, Lorde fans spread positive vibes, such as signs that read: “sorry for your loss.”

The protests took place just one day after the founder of the Church, Fred Phelps Sr., had passed away. Lorde wasn’t interested in spreading hate, neither were her fans, but rather attempted to give this group the positively and love they clearly lack.

In the past the group has also picketed at Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, the Foo Fighters, and One Direction concerts.
