Johnny Depp is reportedly talking about the possibility of starring in the new crime thriller “Labyrinth”, which is set to have the director of The Lincoln Lawyer, Brad Furman, on board with the new project.

Depp is looking into playing Russel Poole in the new film, who is a Los Angeles detective who is investigating the murders of famous rappers Notorious B.I.G and Tupac Shakur. UTA and WME are co-repping the film’s U.S. rights and Good Films will act as one of the films studio producers.  Good Universe will be handling and representing the films international sales.

The screenplay was adapted from the novel Labyrinth, with the subheading of A Detective Investigates the Murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G, the Implication of Death Row Records’ Suge Knight, and the Origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal. The screenplay was also written by Christian Contreras.

The film’s storyline revolves around Russel Poole, who was a decorated detective that spent months investigating the murder of Notorious B.I.G, who’s real name was Christopher Wallace. Eventually, Poole starts to believe that a group of corrupt cops with ties to Suge Knight and his record label Death Row Records had a part into both B.I.G and Tupac’s murders. This theory also leads for the LAPD police chief to protest for Poole’s early retirement from the force.

Poole’s theory also led for Voletta Wallace, Christopher Wallace’s mother, to issue a civil suit against the LAPD and the city of Los Angeles. Although when the court couldn’t find any substantial evidence to support the suit’s claims after five years, the case was dropped in 2010.

Johnny Depp has recently starred on screen in Alice Through the Looking Glass film that earned 295 million dollars in theaters worldwide. Depp is also expected to be seen in theaters again in the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales sequel film. The new Pirates of the Caribbean film is expected to premiere in theaters this coming May 26th 2017.

Enjoys expensive a discount. Five foot four young adult who loves all types of music: from pop to death metal. I still fall for the common cliché plot twists of a romance novel and love it. I am an avid doll collector and play the viola when no one is watching. Sadly my least favorite things are exercising and dieting; yet my New Year's resolution this year was to give up sugar. My stubborn determination to keep my word has changed my favorite drink from Pepsi to unsweet tea. If I’m not writing, I am either spending my time petting my cat Toby or watching all CW shows.
