There comes a time in every friends life, when you become the designated chaperone. You know, when a friend has too much to drink and you become their mom. If you have not been given this pleasure to be in charge of a drunk person, you are one of the lucky few (or you are always the drunk one). However, your day will come and when it does, you should be prepared and knowledgeable. Remember these tips when it’s your turn.

1. Know what kind of drunk you’re dealing with. Meaning, is this person an angry drunk, emotional drunk, or just a blackout drunk. If they are an angry drunk, prepare yourself for the possibility of a tussle when trying to help them. In terms of dealing with an emotional drunk, they’ll do more crying than actually cooperating in getting themselves together. And lastly, a blackout drunk will more than likely be completely passed out somewhere. This requires some strength on your part. All those hours at the gym will come in handy when you hoist them over your shoulder.
