If recent news is any indication, it has become quite clear that many of Yves Saint Laurent’s previous shows have been legendary. Since creative director Anthony Vaccarello took the reins, the iconic French fashion house has given a number of memorable presentations; including one set in the shadow of the Eiffel tower.
However, the brand’s allure has always been first and foremost, centered on its clothes. That is why the brand’s pre-season collections, particularly its newest one, are often worthy of so much attention.
In honor of Yves Saint Laurent’s Pre-Fall Collection, a lookbook is being circulated. This new collection has been described in many ways – namely sleek, bohemian, and elegant. The brand has said that the collection, which is scheduled to arrive in stores by next week, is meant to “realistically echo the way women dress in today’s global world. The options include leather miniskirts, a gold minidress, smoking jackets, and menswear-inspired blazers.
If anything, the collection seems heavily inspired by 70s styles, in keeping with recent trends. However, this collection seems to be going in the same direction as the label’s menswear collection which was presented back in June. It may be, if this lookbook is any indication, the bohemian look is here to stay.
