Ralph Lauren’s Resort 2015 Collection makes an appearance as a dedication to the high life of classic Americana. A neat mélange of prep, Hampton’s cocktail party, business woman, and black tie, the collection features thirty-six looks, each with a slight nod to either the color palette of the American flag, or a signature historical look for the country.
Beginning with the various colors, Ralph Lauren sticks to his well-known navy, black, and white for many of the ensembles. A nearly fluorescent gold makes an appearance toward the middle of the collection in the form of statement pieces such as a pencil skirt, a cropped leather jacket, and a handbag. This metallic shade does add a much needed dose of stereotypical glamour, as the collection veers toward the well-established side of Ralph Lauren. The tailoring is impeccable, the gowns subtly sexy, and every look with an emphasis on perfection and cohesion. There is nothing off-putting or particularly unusual, and this ideology lends itself well toward the Ralph Lauren clientele.
