Drake Slays Meek Mill in “Back to Back” Diss

The Meek-Drake beef just got juicier today as many awoke to the chatty and highly opinionated Twitterverse this morning all due to Drake’s Meek diss entitled “Back to Back,” for which the artwork is taken from Toronto’s win against Philly in the 1993 World Series. The Toronto-born rapper left the 2 minute and 52 second track on SoundCloud for all to hear — more specifically Meek, who has been attacking Drake for supposedly not tweeting in support of his recent album Dreams Worth More Than Money.

Ironically enough, the two collaborated on Mill’s album for the single, “R.I.C.O.” Meek started the feud between the two by accusing Drake of using a ghostwriter by the name of Quinten Miller. Miller quickly denied that he ever wrote lyrics for Drake, but Meek stayed true to the accusation.

Drake responded with diss no. 1, “Charged Up,” in which he spits lyrics like

“Wow, I’m honored that you think this is staged/ I’m flattered man, in fact, I’m amazed/ The perfect start to the summer, man this shit is a doozy/ This shit a twist in the movie but don’t jump to conclusions.”

Whole city charged.

Meek referred to the diss as “baby lotion soft” on Twitter and during his performance at girlfriend Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint Tour.

Today, Drake spewed lyrics of pure gold in “Back to Back,” slaying Meek with lines referencing Nicki Minaj, whom Drake is in close ties with through YMCMB.

“You love her, then you gotta give the world to her/Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?/I know that you gotta be a thug for her/This ain’t what she meant when she told you to open up more.”

He goes on to rap,

“Trigger fingers turn to twitter fingers/You getting bodied by a singing nigga/I’m not the type of nigga that’ll type to niggas/And shout-out to all my boss bitches wife-ing niggas.
I don’t wanna hear about this ever again/ Not even when she tell ’em that they better as friends.”

Twitter users have been extremely vocal about the on-going feud — which as of now holds a score of Drake: 2, Meek: 0.

More Meek-Drake drama is sure to arise soon. What are your opinions on the feud?
