When the first Twilight book was published in 2005, it caused a stir around the world. People were head-over-heels in love with the characters and cheered on either Team Edward or Team Jacob. When the movies were released, people got a new look at the Twilight Saga. The last movie premiered in 2012, but if you thought that was the end of the Twilight universe, think again.

Stephenie Meyer has opened up the chance for fans to influence Twilight. Six short films will be made based off of screenplays that female fans have sent in. In this short video, Stephenie Meyer, as well as other famous actresses and authors such as Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lee, reveal the purpose of this contest: to inspire women everywhere to get involved with writing and producing.

It has already been a huge success: the six winning screenplays were chosen February 3. They are Sunrise by Alanna Smith featuring Benjamin, Consumed by Cullyn Doerfler featuring Jane, Turncoats by Lindsey Hancock Williamson featuring Carlisle Cullen, The Groundskeeper by Sarah Boshear featuring Alice Cullen, The Mary Alice Brandon File by Kailey and Sam Spear featuring Alice Cullen, and We’ve Met Before by Thea Green featuring Alice Cullen. The six screen plays can be viewed on Tongal.

Even though the screenplays have already been selected, it’s not too late for you to participate and get a chance to direct one of these short films. You can submit your director’s pitch here until February 20, and the winning directors will be chosen on March 30.
